Priority is given to yards with an existing 4–6 foot chain link/metal or sturdy wooden privacy fence in place. Areas without fencing will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Chain link fences must be secure and tight, with no slack or gaps along the bottom—goats are surprisingly skilled at slipping under loose fencing! For wooden privacy fences, ensure there are no gaps or openings between boards. If a goat can fit its head through, it can likely squeeze its entire body through—and once one escapes, the rest of the herd won’t be far behind!
