What a delightful experience!  I have a new appreciation for using goats for clearing land.  My yard has a lot of rocks and boulders that made it difficult for typical clearing This is a first big step in cleaning up a space that has been neglected for years.  I can’t say enough about the individual personalities of these little goats with huge appetites and gentle spirits.

The goats came, they ate, they conquered!
There were parts of my property that I had never seen due to years and years of overgrown privet, wisteria, and a massive amount of poison ivy. Heather installed a great electric fence in less than 30 minutes and led the goats in. The only thing I had to do was water them daily. They didn't make any noise, they didn't smell, and I didn't have to interact with them at all... But I did because they are so cute and interesting. The 3 weeks they were at my house made my summer. Pros: As a single woman I didn't have to worry about who the workers were that would have been working in my backyard, when they came and went, and if they were going to  show up each day. And compared to quotes I was given to clear the area the goats were more economical. Plus my poison ivy won't grow back because of them! Cons: ZERO except for maybe cuteness overload. In the past, we spent  a lot of money hiring men to cut the vegetation on the steep hillside behind our house.  This vegetation hid the beauty of the cliffs at the top of the hill.  There was always the problem of the men showing up and the feeling that we needed to be at the house while they worked.

When we heard about Heather’s Joyful  Rentals, we thought that we would have to put up the fence to get the goats in.  We were pleasantly surprised that she handled putting up the fence.  It was amazing the appetite the goats had for all the different vegetation on our hillside.

Probably the best and most unexpected treat of all was the presence of the goats on our property.  We would find ourselves spending time out in the yard just watching them.  It was such great fun for our grandchildren and our friends’  children to come to our house to see the goats.  Surprisingly, the goats were so congenial with the children.

In the end, the goats have done  a great job clearing our hillside of unwanted vegetation.  Since they have gone, we find ourselves missing their presence.

Joyful goat rentals is a delightful way to tackle lawn clearing, especially in areas that are overgrown with weeds and shrubs. Heather’s goats were friendly, well behaved and came with big appetites! The sweetest small business! If you need Goats for land clearing, birthday party or any event, I would highly recommend Joyful Goat Rental. Heather was wonderful to work with and made the process easy. I had two of her goats for my birthday and it made the best day for the kids and adults alike. Heather did a thorough removal of kudzu, ivy and other vines that had enveloped the fence.  Not only did she pull the vines and leaves off, she dug out the roots and cut off the root crowns below ground level. Highly recommend!
